Restoring

There's a whole lot of restoring going on around here.If you take a look at our events line up, you will see that there are multiple opportunities to practice restorative yoga in the near future, starting with tonight's First Friday class. While I do put a fair amount of thought into designing the regular schedule, things also have a way of falling into their own shape, with teachers approaching me about teaching particular workshops or classes. How appropriate that restorative yoga is currently filling our schedule, as we reel still from the overpowering deluge that slammed into our towns, roads and rivers just one week ago. And, before that, the crushing heat that hung around several days running and sapped our collective will to do much of anytihng. Restorative yoga gives us a time and a place to rest deeply, with guidance, with assists, with props, with hands on adjustments.Lauren and Miriah are teaming up to combine restoratives with thai massage for a truly delicious experience. The 7/9 workshop is sold out, but there is still space in both the 7/15 (WRJ) and 7/16 (Thetford) sessions. See events listing to the right, for more information.Restorative yoga of any flavor is deeply and sweetly relaxing to the core, and it is the perfect antidote to excess heat, stress, anxiety, and endurance sports. Hiking mountains, running races, riding the Prouty....all that endorphin-fueling training and fun takes a toll on the physical body, even as it strengthens us. Restorative yoga nourishes us and brings us back into balance. For people who struggle with chronic pain, limitation, even illness, restorative yoga is a place where you can create more ease in your body and your spirit, and get a little vacay from that which plagues you.Restorative yoga is perfect for any body! You don't have to be fit, flexible, young. All you have to do is show up and let us take care of you.See you on the mat! (and the bolsters, blankets, eye pillows, etc.)
