OUR PHILOSOPHY

Our studio’s philosophy is rooted in the firm belief that everyone can do yoga. Our diverse offerings reflect that belief: we meet you where you are while helping you build the tools to grow, and encouraging you to listen to your own body’s wisdom. Most of our intermediate and advanced classes revolve around fun and mindful vinyasa flow that draws on the lineages of Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Anusara Yoga.

Restorative Yoga

Taught by Miriah Wall, Restorative Yoga is exactly what it sounds like—a combination of gentle yoga and restorative poses. Restorative postures use multiple props to support the body so that you can hold poses for longer than is typical in an active practice. This nourishing support allows you to open the body through passive stretching. The postures are usually adapted from supine or seated yoga poses with the addition of blocks, bolsters, and blankets to eliminate strain. This class is generally offered once a month.

FREE Community Class: iRest Yoga Nidra

Integrative Restoration (iRest) Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) is a simple form of mindfulness meditation that provides a way to feel at ease when life gets challenging. iRest helps you tap into a place that is calm—even when your life is not. Some people use iRest to relax when life gets busy. Others use it to help heal from serious trauma, stress, insomnia, depression, PTSD, chronic pain and chemical dependency. Research shows that iRest meditation helps increase happiness; decrease stress, anxiety, and depression; improve sleep; increase energy; and strengthen resilience to deal with day-to-day life. Join Deb, Level 1 iRest teacher, for a free taste of this powerful practice. Sign up to reserve a spot. All are welcome; no yoga experience necessary.

Earth Energy: A CBD & Yoga Experience

Curious about CBD? Want to experience it in a safe, supportive environment? Join Amanda as we bring CBD, a bioactive compound isolated from the hemp plant, into a full-body, slow-flow yoga practice followed by a meditative healing session with micro-massages. Spend your Sunday connecting with the earth through the power of this plant and a grounding yoga practice. UVY yogis Rachael and Andrew of Ropana LLC, will be offering CBD infusions for the experience. Before the practice, you can try the Ropana Nectar CBD Tincture, which brings relaxed mental clarity, and/or one of their CBD salves for muscular relief. This local company blesses all their CBD medicines with a healing mantra that means calm, collected, and mindful. (Ropana means "to heal oneself" in Sanskrit.) Rachael and Andrew will start the class with a short discussion on CBD and answer all your questions about this popular new medicine. Then we'll do a sweet slow-flow yoga session to stretch and soothe all your muscles. As you rest in the restorative final meditation, you'll receive a short face and head massage.

This event is $30 if you register by 4/29 or $35 afterward. Register here. No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of workshop.

Please note that CBD is non-psychoactive and will not get you high. You'll have to come to one of Amanda's Sunday Kundalini classes for that!
